Welcome to the start of my journey in healing through photography...

I wanted to say thank you for stopping by, my name is Heather and I have been doing various types of photography for 13 plus years. My photography career began by me modeling for a photographer who would become my friend and eventually my teacher. He believed that when doing photography that you should know how to capture an image without having to edit it in any way. I still carry that with me in my photography however this is the real world and there are times when there is a need to edit. I went to school to learn other aspects of photography such as film development and how to use tools to enhance my photography and designs with Adobe Photoshop.

When I first started my photography, I wanted to make an impact I wanted to bring a story to life with images. Real life situations that need to be brought to light such as abuse in its various forms. I created a series called "Scars" which in a series of images explains the wounds that some of may carry in our daily lives. These are powerful images which speak to a lot of people that have suffered some or all the types of abuse and for those that have not. If you's like to check them out please go to my album "Scars"

Along my journey of learning photography I also learned very quickly that nature photography brought me a sense of peace in what would become a very chaotic world. In my troubling times I would just grab my camera and head to my local park or to the Hocking Hills to escape into a world that I perceived as sanctuary that most take for granted in their everyday lives. As you will see my nature photography captures life and death and all of the cycles in between.

Thank you again for stopping by and please stay tuned as you watch me heal through my photography and my travels. As I close I invite you to leave comments of suggestions in your own journey through this crazy thing that we call life....
